Austrian Ice Hockey League signs monitoring deal with Sportradar

tradar has penned a two-year deal the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga (EBEL) that will see firm provide the league with its Fraud Detection System (FDS).

The FDS is aimed at identifying betting related manipulation in sport, with Sportradar to monitor all regular season and play-off games, approximately 373 each year.

Axel Bammer, EBEL’s Chief Operating Officer, said: “When the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga includes so many important ice hockey markets and entertains so many passionate fans, we feel a strong responsibility to ensure that they all have no doubts about the commitment and the dedication of the teams and players.

“This partnership will ensure exactly that and we appreciate Sportradar’s support and expertise.”

Andreas Kimmich, Managing Director of Sportradar’s Sport Right Owners, said: “The reputation that we have established over 11 years across sport and more recently in ice hockey through our work with the IIHF and the NHL, coupled with the strong and trustful relationship we have established with Austria’s Play Fair Code, allowed us to put forward a vital and credible proposition to the EBEL.
