ASA ban Cozy Games email promotion ad
By Caroline Watson
omotional offer by Cozy Games-powered bingo site Big Bucks Bing has been banned by the Advertising Standards Authority for misleading customers.

The ASA also warned Big Bucks Bingo to ensure that its advertising for future promotions includes sufficient information about significant conditions, such as wagering requirements, likely to influence a consumer’s decision to participate.

This warning came after a direct email sent on October 2 from Big Bucks Bingo told players to use the EXLC10 code for a £10 bonus. The promotional offer also stated that players would be given 100 free spins after logging into the site.

The ASA’s investigation found the ad to be misleading as it failed to make clear that a wagering requirement applied before customers could withdraw their winnings.

The ASA upheld the assessment over the wagering requirements as the statement on the deposit screen did not mention that the deposit value, as well as the bonus amount, was included in the 4x wagering requirements.

It also queried whether the 100 free spins offer misled players, as they understood consumers were given 100 “free” paylines instead.

However, the ASA found no breach regarding the “free spins”, after considering that the consumers would understand that a “spin” meant a turn on each game.

Although the ASA accepted the second part of the investigation was unlikely to mislead customers in this regard, the first assessment was upheld. Therefore the ad must not appear again in the same form.
