Adelson tops Forbes' rich list again

rding to the Forbes Magazine’s list of the world's wealthiest billionaires, Sheldon Adelson continues to be the richest person in the world connected to the gaming industry and the world’s 20th richest man, totalling at a net worth of $30.4b. In a Forbes feature designed to track worth in real time, the Las Vegas Sands CEO already has shot to $32.7b.

Galaxy Entertainment Chairman Lui Che Woo comes in second at $12.1b, followed by Novomatic founder Johann Graf at $7.2b.

Interestingly, Forbes has excluded all members of the Lim family that controls Genting Group, a $4 billion-plus revenue business, from its list of billionaires.

Multiple members of two families appear on the list: Pansy Ho, Angela Leong and Lawrence Ho of the Stanley Ho family, as well as Frank Fertitta, Lorenzo Fertitta and Tilman Fertitta.

At 40 years old, Lawrence Ho is the youngest billionaire in the gaming industry. PlayTech founder Teddy Sagi is the second youngest gamer at 45.

Despite losing approximately $300m from his investment in Trump Taj Mahal, which has been recently sold to Hard Rock International and two New Jersey investors, Carl Icahn made the rich list with a net worth of $16.6b. However, he was not listed for his involvement in the casino industry.
