rding to the Nevada Gaming Control Board, roulette has made a comeback in Nevada casinos, showing a marked increase in the first few months of 2017 and throughout 2016

Nevada casinos’ takings from roulette were up 58.87% to $38.6m in February compared to the same month a year prior.

The past 12 months has seen roulette revenue increase 13% amounting to a total roulette revenue of $361.8m, representing a hold percentage of 18%. The latest figures

The only other game that saw a similar year-on-year increase during the month of February was bingo. These figures show that approximately $2bn was wagered on the game over the past year.

Michael Lawton, a senior research analyst with the board told the Las Vegas Sun: “Roulette had a great February due to improved hold and increased volumes. 2016 was a good year as well with increases in win and volume, which followed up three consecutive calendar year decreases to win.”

The fact that roulette showed promise in 2012 has made the results for years after look pale in comparison.

Lawton adds: “The state set a record in roulette volume in 2012 with $21.bn in wagers, which was due to some very strong Latin America play that hasn’t returned to those levels in four years.”
