Tatts wins Victoria license in Australia
By Josh Fisher
ralia-based Tatts Group has secured a new lottery licence for Victoria with a successful bid, giving it exclusivity in the state for the next 10 years.

The new licence will commence on 1 July 2018 and will continue in force until 2028. The company also said it would make a single premium payment to the state of AUD$120m as consideration for the licence grant.

The licence covers its draw games such as Tattslotto, Powerball and Oz Lotto, as well as instant scratch cards.

Commenting on the successful bid, Tatts’ CEO and Managing Director, Robbie Cooke, said: “I am delighted with this important licence win and the opportunity to continue operating Victoria’s public lotteries. Our partnership with the state, which has continued since 1954, provided more than $4bn in lotteries taxes over the past 10 years. These monies have been instrumental in funding much social infrastructure in the state.

“We truly appreciate the government’s trust and the support of our iconic world class lotteries business in awarding us this licence and look forward to contributing strongly to the Victorian community over the next 10 years.”
