da’s gaming revenue was up 1.19% in April compared to same period last year, according to data released by The Nevada Gaming Control Board.

The regulatory body said the state took in more than $886.1m from gamblers in April compared to last year’s $876, with Las Vegas Strip casinos accounting for over half of that revenue with almost $475.4m.

Gaming revenue at casinos in downtown Las Vegas grew by 22% to $52.3m, whilst revenue in Reno was down by 4.8% to $47.7m. In Stateline, casino revenues were down by 4.6% to $13.3m.

The state benefited with about $44.3 million in percentage fees based on the taxable revenues generated in April.

Whilst Nevada has seen some growth in April it’s significantly lower than the 7.45% growth reported in March. However, the board explained that March was driven by the NCAA basketball tournament as well as positive numbers.
