Scientific Games signs eight-year deal with Maryland Lottery

based gaming manufacturer Scientific Games has today announced the signing of an eight-year systems technology and services contract with the Maryland Lottery and Gaming Control Agency (MLGCA).

Under the terms of the new contract, Scientific Games will provide the agency with retailer terminals, a telecommunications network to support the Lottery and its network of 4,500 retailers, and an innovative portfolio of draw and monitor games. Scientific Games will also deliver systems software and operational support to the lottery agency.

In a statement announcing the deal, MLGCA Director Gordon Medenica said: "Of the three companies that submitted bids, Scientific Games represented the best value to the state,

Their technology, marketing expertise and retail maximization practices will help us drive sales growth."

The contract begins in May 2018 and may be extended by the MLGCA for up to four additional years.

Medenica added: "The Maryland Lottery is eager to make the transition to the new system as quickly as possible to benefit our retailers, players and ultimately, our state beneficiaries, through increased sales and revenue."

Since its creation in 1973, the MLGCA has contributed over $14.4 billion in revenue to the State of Maryland and has awarded more than $22.2 billion in prizemoney to players.

Scientific Games provides gaming and technology services to more than 150 lotteries worldwide and has commercial relationships with nearly every North American lottery operator.
