Online gamers least tolerant of identity checks
By Gambling Insider
ne gaming customers are only prepared to spend an average of four minutes undergoing identity verification checks before they abandon an online gaming transaction, according to research by information services providers Experian.

The industry’s “identity impatience” figure represents the lowest tolerance time of all the sectors studied, although it was a one-minute increase on the 2011 result.

Experian found that, across all of the sectors surveyed, 45% of UK adults had backed out of an online transaction in response to the length and complexity of the identity validation process and security checks.

Experian director of identity & fraud Nick Mothershaw said: “However time-consuming they appear, identity checks are in all our interests, not only protecting businesses from fraud but also individuals.”
