Gateway Casino announces new casino development and renovations

way Casinos have been very busy celebrating their 25th anniversary having announced two casino renovation projects and the approval of a new $70m casino development this September.

Gateway Casinos have been operational since 1992 and are located in British Columbia, Edmonton and Ontario, Canada. The company has a significant impact on the local economies in which they are present, boasting the employment of over 6,100 employees, 26 gaming properties and 9,800 slots.

Gateway started September by announcing the renovation the Grand Villa Casino Burnaby, British Columbia. The $15m renovation will refurbish the casino's gaming floor and include the construction of two new restaurants.

The news was welcomed by the local community. Burnaby Mayor Derek Corrigan said: “The Grand Villa and Delta Hotels Burnaby has become a very successful entertainment and accommodation venue in our city. I know that customers and visitors will welcome the many new attractions this renovation will enable – and that Burnaby citizens will enjoy both the new venues and the economic benefits and jobs the renovation will provide.”

There was more good news to come as the company later announced the approved development in Delta. Tony Santo, CEO of Gateway Casinos & Entertainment said: “We are very proud to be making this commitment to Delta, where we will work together to create jobs and invest in the Delta economy through this new local entertainment destination. With our $70m investment, the proposed Delta casino and entertainment property will bring new and exciting gaming, dining and entertainment options to this rapidly growing community.”

Gateway Casinos made a third announcement of a renovation at their Lake City Casino Kelowna, valued at $3.6m. Again the renovation will focus on dining experiences, such as MATCH Gateway’s pub/live sport bar, and the improvement of the casinos gaming floor.

“We’re looking forward to introducing these changes and exciting restaurants to our customers. We know that MATCH and The Buffet will also provide compelling offerings for new customers to come and visit us as well,” said Clarissa Pruden, General Manager, Lake City Casino Kelowna.
