ts-betting data suppliers Sportradar have hosted an anti-match-fixing programme for Italian football club Genoa.

First team and youth players as well as coaching staff of the Serie A team participated in the Sportradar Betting Integrity and Anti-match-fixing Workshop at the club museum.

The programme, which was supported by Italian betting firm and Genoa club sponsor Iziplay, was designed to educate participants about the dangers of match-fixing.

Attendees were made aware of the rules and regulations regarding betting and match-fixing, and the penalties for breaching them.

The workshop was followed by a panel session discussion and press conference.

Genoa CEO Alessandro Zarbano said: “With this project, we have implemented a preventative approach with a clear education aspect in order to make the participants aware of the dangers and risks of match-fixing.”

Marcello Presilla, Sportradar international integrity manager, added: “Genoa CFC must be highly commended for recognising the severity of the dangers of match-fixing and tackling the issue pro-actively.”
