New York's fourth casino close to completion
By Caroline Watson
rding to the Acting Executive Director of the New York State Gaming Commission, Ron Ochrym, the Empire State's fourth commercial casino is set to open its doors to the public in the first quarter of 2018.

The resort, known as Resorts World Catskills will be the fourth casino of its kind to be available to New York citizens.

The casino will feature a full-scale casino with a 100,000 sq.ft gaming floor, including 130 table games and 2,150 slot machines.

Ochrym stated that construction work at the property is reaching completion, with slot machines already arriving at the venue earlier this month.

Resorts World Catskills will be joining the three existing properties, Tioga Downs Casino, del Lago Resort & Casino, and Rivers Casino & Resort Schenectady.

The casino resort is all part of New York’s planned gambling expansion in the state. Back in 2013, New York voters approved the decision, with the Gaming Facility Location Board proposing the construction of up to four casinos in the district.

In addition to the construction of Resorts World Catskills, the existing Tioga Downs racetrack and slots parlour is getting transformed into a full-scale gambling venue.
