The fine is the Las Vegas-based company’s third, with other sanctions including discontinuation of its Cantor Sport Book computer system and providing better training for its employees.

CG Technology was first fined for incorrectly paying wagers – the fine totalling $1.5m and also seeing CEO Lee Amaitis resign as part of the settlement.

Its second ($22.5m) related to the acceptance of a mobile wager from Maryland in 2016, which was followed by 33 more out-of-state bets in October 2016 alone.

CG Technology’s third offence was accepting wagers at the exact moment odds were being changed, leading to 783 players receiving $7,368 more than expected and 700 winning $4,465 less.

However, CG Technology’s most recent fine comprises a significantly reduced amount due to the fact that it self-reported the issue.

The company runs eight sportsbooks in Las Vegas and is the region’s third-biggest operator behind MGM Resorts and Caesars Entertainment.
