MGM launches mobile sports betting in New Jersey
By Oliver Rudgewick

This makes MGM the second operator in the state to offer mobile sports betting, after DraftKings and Kambi’s sportsbook went live at the start of the month.

The announcement comes less than one month after MGM and fellow operator GVC Holdings announced a joint partnership to expand services across the US, with GVC expected to handle day-to-day running of the sportsbook.

The app has initially been soft-launched on the Android platform, with an iOS version due to launch soon.

This will feature a full range of US sports, alongside selected international sports, with customers able to withdraw and deposit funds from any location in New Jersey.

Adam Greenblatt, GVC Director of Corporate Development and Strategy, said:“We are delighted to launch our new playMGM sports betting app in New Jersey, and believe that the joint venture’s rapid entry into this market puts it in a very good position to take market share.

“While time to market is clearly important, we are also focused on our proprietary product development roadmap which will see new features introduced quickly, and without third-party technology dependencies.”

Scott Butera, MGM Resorts International President of Interactive Gaming said: "Our partnership with GVC Holdings positions us as a leader in technology, accessibility and sports betting expertise.”
