FanDuel sportsbook app now available in New Jersey
By Harrison Sayers

The app is initially only available to sports fans in New Jersey, with a continued roll out to new states expected pending regulatory changes.

FanDuel began life as a daily fantasy sports (DFS) operator, but has pivoted towards sports betting since the repeal of the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act, opening its first sportsbook in July at the Meadowlands Racetrack in New Jersey.

The company has since been granted permission to open an online sportsbook for a five-day testing period by the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement.

As the five-day trial period is now over, FanDuel can launch their complete sportsbook app.

Matt King, CEO of FanDuel Group, said: “We’re leveraging our experiences building the sportsbook at the Meadowlands and the global footprint of Paddy Power Betfair to build an online sports betting experience that fans want, love, and can rely on.”

Operator Paddy Power Betfair successfully merged its US businesses with FanDuel, including TVG who announced two new sports betting shows earlier today, creating the largest online sports destination in the country.

FanDuel has also reportedly re-entered the Texas DFS market after a two-year absence, joiningoperator DraftKings in litigation to determine the legality of DFS in the Lone Star State.
