Alderney Gambling Control Commission (AGCC) have announced an independent review of their handling of the Full Tilt Poker licence case.

The regulatory body have appointed former chairman of the UK Gambling Commission Peter Dean to undertake the review, which will investigate the AGCC’s actions in dealing with the matter.

The licences of Vantage Limited, Filco Limited and Oxalic Limited – who together traded as Full Tilt Poker – were initially suspended on 29 June before being revoked on 29 September following a drawn out process that saw an initial public hearing adjourned at the request of Tilt’s legal team, with the later sitting then held in private.

Dean will report back with his findings and recommendations by the end of March 2012.

AGCC’s executive director André Wilsenach said: “We believe we acted appropriately and fairly at all times but, following our own internal assessment and the inevitable questions that have been raised by third parties, the Commission decided that it is in the best interests of players, licence holders and the AGCC itself to commission an independent review and to make the outcome public.”
