A total of HK$240,000 (US$31,000) in betting chips and cash was seized from the property.

The operator is believed to have been a 57-year-old woman, who acted with an assistant. 

Operating a gambling business in Hong Kong can lead to a maximum of seven years in jail, alongside a HK$5m fine. Gambling in one of these illegal establishments can lead to up to nine months in jail and a HK$30,000 fine.
