New Jersey gaming market enjoys strongest year since 2012

This was the highest total achieved since 2012's $3.05bn, before internet gaming and sports betting were regulated in the state.

Casino win accounted for a huge portion of the 2018 number with $2.51bn – a 4% increase.

Internet gaming win ascended 22% to $298.7m, while sports wagering gross revenue reached $94m between its inception on 14 June and the end of December.

For December, gaming revenue went up 25% year-on-year to $258.9m; the exact same increase it enjoyed in November.

There was a 12% rise in casino win to $209.1m, while internet gaming win grew 40% to $29m.

Sports wagering gross revenue was $20.8m in December, from total monthly handle of $319.1m.

Online sports wagering constituted $241m of this handle, with on-site sports betting handle totalling $78.1m.
