Rhode Island sports betting revenue for April highest to date
By Tim Poole

The highest monthly total to date, the figure came from handle of $17m, according to the state lottery, and was 33% up on March’s tally.

That has taken Rhode Island sports betting handle to date to $94m, generating revenue of $3.9m.

The state’s target for the next fiscal year is revenue of $22.7m, having missed its target of $11.5m for the previous fiscal year.

Rhode Island is yet to legalise mobile wagering, which is a huge factor in its below-target results to date – as well as a Super Bowl which lost the state’s sportsbooks $2.4m.

However, a lawsuit was filed in May to stop Rhode Island sports betting until it is approved by voters.
