Borgata, Golden Nugget and Meadowlands dominate New Jersey revenue for May

The significant rise included $15.5m in sports wagering gross revenue and a 15% increase in casino win, to $222.9m.

Internet gaming win was up 58%, to $38.3m, rounding off an impressive month for the state, which surpassed April’s total gaming revenue figure of $265m.

For the year-to-date, New Jersey has generated $1.31bn in total gaming revenue, also a 27% rise.

Casino win has formed the bulk of that ($1.03bn), up 13%, while internet gaming win has risen 54% to $179.4m.

Sports wagering gross revenue, the majority of which comes from mobile betting, has reached $99.9m for 2019 so far.

Sports wagering handle for May was $318.8m, $263.5m of which came from online betting, while year-to-date handle sits at $1.71bn (with $1.38bn of this being digital).

The most successful New Jersey property for the month was Borgata, which generated $61.3m in gaming revenue – $55.2m of which stemmed from land-based casino win – although this was 7% down.

Golden Nugget led the online casino market, accumulating $14m in internet gaming win – a 64% rise.

Meadowlands, partnered with FanDuel, led the sports betting market with $8.6m in revenue; Resorts Digital, partnered with DraftKings, was second on $4.1m.

Ocean Resort, partnered with William Hill, was next in the running with revenue of $603,894, while Resorts made a $12,138 loss on sports wagering.
