SLS Las Vegas sued for unpaid license fees
By Matthew Enderby

The lawsuit, filed by California-based SBE Hotel Licensing, claims Las Vegas Resort Holdings, which operates SLS Las Vegas, failed to pay at least $450,000 in fees since November.

The fees allow the Las Vegas resort to operate under the hotel brand.

The resort, situated at the north end of the Las Vegas strip, is currently undergoing a $100m upgrade to its casino floor, hotel rooms and entertainment venues.

It was formerly known as the Sahara, but re-opened as the SLS in 2014.

Las Vegas Resort Holdings is owned by Alex Meruelo, who purchased the property for an undisclosed fee in April 2018.

Meruelo was unanimously approved as the new majority owner of the NHL’s Arizona Coyotes last week, with Forbes valuing the deal at $290m.
