Police operation sees 78 arrested in Singapore

Over the six-day operation, the police raided numerous areas near Jalan Besar, including Chinatown and Tiong Bahru.

Out of the 78, 27 men and 10 women were arrested for gambling. Police found more than S$6,500 (US$4,790) and a total of 14 computers were also seized.

A total of 38 women were arrested for offences under the Women’s Charter, while the remaining three men were brought in for immigration-related offences.

The police have stated those found guilty of gambling will potentially be fined up to S$50,000 or sentenced up to three years in prison.

Police investigations remain ongoing.
