Spelinspektionen had granted AG Communications, MT Securetrade, Hero Gaming, and Gaming Innovation Group’s Ellmount Gaming a one-year license each, but the court overturned this decision.

While the court gave the operators longer terms in the Swedish market, it has not awarded them the maximum period of five years.

Spelinspektionen originally held back on granting the four operators licenses longer than a year as the companies had negative equity or shortages in capital strength.

The Administrative Court agreed with this decision, but believed the operators deserved more than a single-year entry.

The Gaming Inspectorate is now considering if it should appeal the decision. To do so, it must lodge its case no later than 9 August.

The operators can also appeal against the decision of the Administrative Court.

In June, AG Communications was fined SEK 500,000 ($52,000) by Spelinspektionen for offering recurring bonuses on its websites.

Since the re-regulation of the market, operators with a Swedish license may only offer customers bonuses at the first game opportunity.
