Nevada casino revenue increases 3% for July

Both of the state’s main gambling regions experienced small growth, with Las Vegas Strip revenue of $541.8m, an increase of 2%, and Reno revenue of $57.3m, also a 2% rise.

A decline in Baccarat saw total revenue of $77.1m for the game, a 24% decrease.

However, slot machine revenue increased 4% to $695.9m.

In sports betting, Nevada casinos generated $10.5m, an impressive 154% growth.

But, despite Nevada’s climb in revenue, New Jersey is so far providing a brilliant advert for the legalisation of mobile sports wagering.

New Jersey sports betting handle surpassed Nevada’s for the second time this year for July, with Nevada also taking less revenue than New Jersey, which generated $17.9m for the same month.

While both states allow sports betting apps, players are able to sign up remotely in New Jersey, leading to an increase in online betting in the state.
