August sees New Jersey continue its strong gaming revenue run

Based on data from the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement, total gaming revenue grew 16% year-on-year to $352.8m for the monthly period, with casino win up 6% to $286.5m.

Internet gaming win rose significantly once more, up 66% to $41.1m, although the biggest increase unsurprisingly came in the sports wagering department.

Sports wagering handle for August was $293.6m and gross revenue was up 174% to $25.2m.

For the year-to-date, sports wagering handle in New Jersey totals $2.53bn, with gross revenue at $152.7m.

Total gaming revenue for 2019 is up to $2.28bn, a 22% increase, with casino win rising 10% to $1.83bn and internet gaming win growing 57% to $297.9m.

For August, Golden Nugget once again generated the highest internet gaming win, while Meadowlands repeated its market-leading success in the sports betting arena.

Borgata took the most casino win and also the most revenue of any individual property in Atlantic City or New Jersey.
