Spain online gaming revenue up 5% for Q3

Of the country’s total GGR, betting revenue made up 53%, bingo revenue 2%, casino revenue 35% and poker revenue 11%.

Betting revenue grew 17% in comparison to Q2, and 3% from 2018, while bingo saw a 5% rise from Q2, and a 1% increase year-on-year.

Casino revenue was the only segment to decrease from the previous quarter with a 4% drop, but was still up 9% from 2018.

Poker revenue increased 6% from Q2, mainly thanks to tournament poker which saw a 12% rise in revenue for the quarter.

The monthly average of active accounts was 869,499, a growth of 1% from 2018, while the monthly average of new accounts was 253,678, an increase of 8% from Q2.

Marketing spend for the period was €82.3m, with the annual growth of 6% attributed to an increase of 46% in sponsorship and 11% in affiliates.

Spain currently hosts 80 licensed operators. Five new operators received licenses in the quarter, including LeoVegas in July.
