Vietnam is not the only country where Donaco remains firm on the issue, as it also maintained the lockdown in Star Vegas Resort and Club, Cambodia, stating the shutdown complies with government requirements during the pandemic.

The company announced it “believes the current COVID-19 situation poses a risk to the health and safety of staff and visitors at Aristo if operations resumed, which could have adverse long-term consequences for Donaco. The board and management will continue to proactively monitor developments in the rapidly changing COVID-19 situation and swiftly provide further updates in due course.”

The company loses about $900,000 per month, while the casinos are shut down, taking into account maintenance of the venue and other corporate costs. However, Donaco isn’t worried, as it stated it has a cash reserve to maintain a steady pace for about a year.

While Donaco made a decision to prolong the shutdown, Vietnam’s Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc (pictured) suggested it might be time to loosen the social distancing rules in certain parts of the country. But so far, there’s no official announcement about the eased regulations.
