Among the top donations are GVC's donation of £1.4m, William Hill’s £1m, Bet365’s contribution of £868,000 and Sky Bet’s £705,000.

GambleAware currently asks all those who profit from gambling in Britain to donate annually a minimum of 0.1% of their annual gross gambling yield (GGY).

The charity asks those with an annual GGY of less than £250,000 per annum to donate a minimum of £250.

Through its agreement with the Gambling Commission, the charity also received a number of funds from regulatory settlements throughout the period.

LeoVegas contributed £600,000 after being penalised for advertising and marketing failings.

The ruling, which was initially decided in 2018, found the operator to be responsible for 41 misleading advertisements and to have sent marketing material to 1,894 people who had previously self-excluded.

Gamesys (Gibraltar) Ltd contributed £690,000 in regulatory settlement funds after failing to prevent gambling harm and breaching money laundering regulations in June 2019.

The Gambling Commission launched an investigation into the operator’s processes after a police investigation revealed three individuals had spent stolen money with the operator.
