Role changes in Macau gambling market
By Violeta Prockyte

The Macau government didn’t say when Chan will be leaving since initially his term is set until 1 December. However, Adriano Marques Ho is set to take over the director’s spot in June. Ho has a strong background in regulatory investigative practice.

Changes in Macau’s regulatory body is not the only adjustments the gambling market faces. Grant Bowie, MGM China CEO and executive director, announced we will retire on 31 May 2020. The company stated Bowie “decided not to extend his contract and elected to step down earlier to match with his personal retirement plans”. He is set to carry out an advisory role through 31 December 2022, as well as maintain his status as executive director during the handover.

Bowie opened Wynn Macau, then joined MGM after MGM Macau was launched in 2008.
