WSOP executive director Ty Stewart said in a release, “It wouldn’t be summer without WSOP.”

The online event will be limited to players from Nevada and New Jersey. If players are planning to travel to one of these states to enter, WSOP warns that sharing an IP address will not be allowed and will lead to ineligibility.

In its first month, the WSOP Online tournament anticipates a one bracelet event per day, and 85 gold bracelets, which has caused some enthusiasts to flock to Twitter to question the future value of these bracelets due to the limited scope of participants.

WSOP will also expand their partnership with GGPoker Network, which finished a WSOP Online event last month that saw 485,851 entries and a $134,706,274 prize pool.

In the WSOP press release, GGPoker Network ambassador Daniel Negreanu added, “Bringing this experience online will open the door for a new generation of poker players to feel the rush of competing for the game’s biggest prize.”
