In February, the KSA announced the service will be supported by a problem gambling funding body, paid through a levy by licensees, as part of the Remote Gambling Act.

The helpline will also form part of the gambling act, with interested parties encouraged to submit their offers by 1 September. The KSA has so far received seven responses to the tendering process.

The Remote Gambling Act, which will legalise and regulate online gambling, was originally set to go live in the Netherlands from 1 January 2021, but has been pushed back six months to 1 July.

In March, the Dutch Government published key regulation requirements of the act, including that licensees will offer online betting, including casino games and sports betting, although odds will not be permitted on youth or amateur competitions.

The online lottery was also not included, while gambling adverts won’t be permitted until after a 9pm watershed.
