Paddy Power vows to plant 6,000 trees every time Arsenal fails to win
By Tim Poole

Indeed, in its latest bid to entertain – and potentially do bit of good for the planet, too – the operator has vowed to plant 6,000 trees each time Arsenal Football Club fails to win this English Premier League season.

Arsenal defender Hector Bellerin initially vowed to donate 3,000 trees every time Arsenal won; but in two Premier League games since the season’s resumption, Arsenal has lost twice.

As such, Paddy Power hasn’t missed out on the chance to poke fun and turn the situation into its latest marketing opportunity.

A Paddy Power spokesperson said: “Since the Premier League has returned, an area the size of a football pitch is destroyed twice a week by Arsenal’s defence.

“We decided to step in and help hectare Bellerin out – after all, his team can’t defend their goal, let alone planet.”
