The former poker player, commentator and businessman, passed away on Sunday 6 September after battling prostate cancer.

As a player, Sexton won nearly $7m in prize money, and a World Series of Poker bracelet, as well as a World Poker Tour title in 2016.

A long-time commentator of the World Poker Tour, Sexton was also the chairman and co-founder of online poker room partypoker.

Sexton was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2009, becoming the 38th member at the time. He used his winnings for good causes, donating half of his $1m prize at the 2006 World Series of Poker Tournament of Champions event, to five charities.

Professional poker player Phil Hellmuth paid tribute to Sexton, saying he championed poker better than anybody.
