Dat gaat te snel voor de huidige wetgeving, waar deze platforms simpelweg niet goed in passen op het moment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Malta herhaalt hiermee een trucje uit het verleden: net als bij crypto en blockchain willen ze er vroeg bij zijn om de sector vorm te geven.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Tussen gokken en beleggen in<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Het lastige aan prediction markets is dat ze een beetje van twee walletjes eten. Het lijkt op een kansspel, maar heeft ook veel weg van financi\u00eble handel. Waar je bij een normale sportweddenschap tegenover een bookmaker staat, handel je hier met andere mensen.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>De prijzen worden bepaald door vraag en aanbod, net als op de beurs. Die overlap maakt het voor toezichthouders een hoofdpijndossier; het is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamblinginsider.com\/nl\/analyses\/100794\/voorspellingsmarkten-vs-sportweddenschappen-het-echte-verschil\">geen puur gokken<\/a>, maar de praktijk wijst vaak anders uit.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Groeiende druk vanuit de gokmarkt<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>De overheid in Malta ziet dat de markt wereldwijd explodeert. Ze wil <a href=\"https:\/\/businessnow.mt\/malta-moves-to-shape-rules-for-fast-growing-prediction-markets\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener nofollow\">innovatie aanmoedigen<\/a>, maar wel met de rem erop waar dat nodig is voor de veiligheid van spelers. De roep om meer controle op dit soort digitale speculatie klinkt overigens steeds luider.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">De moeite die toezichthouders hebben<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Wereldwijd hebben waakhonden de grootste moeite om dit soort platforms bij te benen. Zaken als handel met voorkennis en het manipuleren van de markt zijn lastig te bewijzen en aan te pakken.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Neem nu <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamblinginsider.com\/nl\/nieuws\/102489\/cftc-heeft-moeite-met-toezicht-op-polymarket-en-kalshi\">de soap<\/a> rondom grote namen als Polymarket en Kalshi. Dat dossier laat zien hoe ingewikkeld effectief toezicht momenteel is. Zolang de handhavingscapaciteit achterblijft bij de exploderende groei, blijven de risico&#8217;s groot.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Nederland trekt een grens<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In Nederland zijn ze een stuk duidelijker: als je met echt geld inzet op een prediction market, is het in de ogen van de wet gewoon een kansspel. En zonder vergunning kom je er dan niet in. Dat merkte ook Polymarket toen de Kansspelautoriteit <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamblinginsider.com\/nl\/nieuws\/101450\/ksa-verbiedt-goksite-polymarket-in-nederland-last-onder-dwangsom\">op de stoep<\/a> stond. Het platform moest meteen de deuren sluiten voor Nederlandse deelnemers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wat merkt de speler hiervan?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Het grootste verschil voor de consument zit hem in de bescherming. Wie kiest voor <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gamblinginsider.com\/nl\/bookmakers-nederland\">online wedden<\/a>, kan rekenen op strikte regels en controle op uitbetalingen. Bij prediction markets is dat vaak een &#8220;wild west&#8221; verhaal. Je hebt minder garanties als er iets misgaat of als er een geschil ontstaat over de uitslag van een weddenschap.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">De Maltese balans<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Malta probeert nu een middenweg te vinden tussen volledige vrijheid en strakke controle.
