PKR’s future in doubt amid financial uncertainty

It has been revealed that PKR is suffering under the strain of financial pressure, throwing the online operator’s future into doubt.

PKR’s future in doubt amid financial uncertainty

The operator confirmed earlier today (Friday) that it has “experienced recent financial difficulties and is in the process of taking professional advice.”

Microgaming, PKR’s platform partner and the operator’s exclusive casino and poker games provider since February 2016, has issued a statement indicating that “PKR have filed applications to court for administration orders, which will be heard in the week commencing 8 May 2017.”

Microgaming suspended gameplay on PKR.com following a request from the operator made at 17.32 on Wednesday 3 May.

PKR will continue to update its website once the hearings have taken place, stating that this information will contain details by which players and creditors can “address queries and details of the process.”

PKR was launched in 2006 as a 3D poker room, and is one of the industry’s most recognisable online operators, migrating onto Microgaming’s network just over a year ago due to liquidity problems.
