Foxwood launches international live table gaming platform

Connecticut’s Foxwoods Resort Casino has launched a new roulette live-casino product to lure European players - but unusually they won’t be making a profit from it.

Foxwood launches international live table gaming platform

Online gaming lacks legal clarity in Connecticut at the moment, so the move is more of a marketing coup than a money spinner, the Connecticut regional newspaper The Day reported.

Following an agreement with live-dealer specialists Authentic Gaming in December, the roulette table will be streamed live from the Newport VIP room to online operators Betsson, Kindred Group, and LeoVegas, as well as suppliers NYX Gaming Group (now SG Digital).

“It’s a great way for us to proliferate our brand internationally,” Foxwoods’ executive director of online gaming, Seth Young, said. “It opens up tourism opportunities for the property. If a customer in Europe or wherever is engaging without table games, perhaps they’ll decide they’d like to visit and experience the property itself.”

While Atlantic City’s Golden Nugget has launched a similar live-casino product in New Jersey, Foxwoods appears to be the first to operate beyond US borders.

Until Connecticut lawmakers legalise and regulate online gambling, Betsson, LeoVegas, Kindred Group and SG Digital will keep the revenue, according to The Day
