Svenska Spel launches IGT cashless gaming
Svenska Spel has launched IGT’s cashless gaming product, which allows customers to fund their Video Lottery Terminal (VLT) play directly from mobile phones.
The Swedish operator will utilise IGTPay technology through IGT’s Intelligen systems.
Through IGTPay, players logged into a Svenska Spel VTL are able to withdraw funds directly from their bank account through Swedish payment service Swish, before approving the transfer themselves.
This, IGT says, will pave the way for cashless gaming and a new era of gaming in Sweden.
IGT Senior vice president and COO GTech international, Declan Harkin, said: “Svenska Spel is at the forefront of innovation with IGT’s cashless gaming solution.
“This ground-breaking technology introduces a contemporary consumer experience to land-based gaming in one of the most progressive societies in the world.”
IGT has been a VLT supplier to Svenska Spel since 2006, with the operator operating nearly 5,000 IGT VLTS in Sweden.
In March, IGT posted a 1% decrease in year-on-year revenue for full year 2019, down to $4.79bn.
