Canadian Gaming Association (CGA) president and CEO Paul Burns has joined Gambling Insider to discuss the potential legalisation of single-event sports wagering in Canada and online gaming in Ontario.
Appearing on the GI Huddle ahead of Super Bowl weekend, it was apt timing for Burns to share his hopes that legal, regulated single-event sports betting is on the horizon, along with online casino.
With so much money spent with gray-market betting firms in Canada, the CGA is naturally optimistic the nation’s regulated market can experience change for the better.
It has been a long road for Burns and the CGA so far, though, and he shares why frustration has grown over the years among legal and regulated stakeholders within Canadian gaming.
