Sports and Social DraftKings venue opens in Michigan
DraftKings and Live! Hospitality and Entertainment has announced the opening of Michigan’s first Sports and Social DraftKings venue.
Located at Somerset Collection, the new location is set to open this fall.
Back in July 2021, DraftKings and Sports and Social had announced a strategic partnership focusing on creating “a unique food, beverage and entertainment experience.”
The venue will offer a live sports viewing and wagering experience with a 32-foot LED media wall. Guests will be able to access DraftKings’ mobile platforms to play daily fantasy sports and wager on sports from their mobile devices while watching multiple games live.
The 10,400 square-foot location will include a DraftKings Lounge that can be used by guests for private parties and events, as well as a dog-friendly outdoor patio that will provide a setting for dining, live music and socialising.
Social and Sports DraftKings venues are currently being designed by ICrave, a strategy, design and development firm.
Michael Kibort, Senior Director, Retail Sportsbooks at DraftKings, commented: “We are thrilled to debut the first-ever Sports and Social DraftKings and offer customers in Michigan our innovative mobile sportsbook app with an exciting in-person experience.
“Thanks to the strong support of Live! Hospitality and Entertainment, we believe we have created a premier dining, sports, and entertainment destination for fans to enjoy.”
Reed Cordish, Principal of The Cordish Companies and CEO of Live! Hospitality and Entertainment, added: “DraftKings is an industry leader in sports and entertainment, and we are incredibly excited to be working with them on this new collaboration for Sports and Social.
“We are creating a new standard for dining and sports entertainment with Sports and Social DraftKings that is unmatched.”
