About DraftKings

DraftKings was founded in 2012 by Jason Robins, Paul Liberman, and Matt Kalish. They were all former Vistaprint employees who came together and started DraftKings out of Liberman’s spare bedroom. Here’s an overview of the most important milestones in DraftKings’ history so far:

  • 2012: Launched its first product, a one-on-one MLB daily fantasy competition.

  • 2021–2024: Acquired Golden Nugget Online Gaming (GNOG) and Jackpocket (a digital lottery courier).
  • 2025: Entered a partnership with ESPN as the network’s official sports betting and odds provider and launched DraftKings Predictions, a standalone app offering CFTC-regulated event contracts.
