Randy Freer resigns from 888 Board of Directors

Operator 888 Holdings Board Member Randy Freer has resigned from the company with immediate effect.

Randy Freer resigns from 888 Board of Directors

The company, which owns the brands William Hill, Mr Green and runs SI Sportsbook, says Freer has left due to outside commitments.

The operator’s Non-Executive Chairman Lord Mendelsohn said: “On behalf of the Board, I would like to thank Randy for his contributions during his short time with 888, and wish him well for the future.

“With the highly relevant skills and experience of our recently strengthened Board, we continue to see exciting opportunities ahead as we deliver the group’s growth strategy and generate further stakeholder value.”

Freer will no longer be advising the company as an independent Non-Executive Director.

Freer is an American television executive and former CEO of streaming site Hulu.

The news follows the reshuffling of 888’s leadership team following its acquisition of William Hill earlier this year.

The company completed its takeover of William Hill after winning an auction for the bookie’s international business.

888’s reshuffled leadership was foreshadowed by the departure of William Hill CEO Ulrik Bengtsson at the time of acquisition. William Hill’s Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Eric Hageman also left the company as part of 888’s “organisational changes.” William Hill has been owned by 888 since the start of July 2022.

The Gibraltar head-quartered 888 operates from 15 offices around the world, employing over 12,000 people globally.

In June, 888 provided a trading update for the 12 months ending February 2022.
