SBM Director Jean-Luc Biamonti to retire, replacement decided next week
Société des Bains de Mer (SBM) Director Jean-Luc Biamonti has announced his retirement, with his last day slated for 24 January 2023.
The successor to Biamonti will be officially appointed at the end of the meeting of the Board of Directors on 23-24 January.
Biamonti was appointed as Director in 1985, Chairman of the Board of Directors since 1995 and Deputy Chairman since 2013.
Announcing his retirement, Biamonti said: “With all my heart, I wish the best for this magnificent Society and for all of you.”
Société des Bains de Mer had a fall in H1 performance in 2021–2022. Generating €311.4m ($327.4m) in revenue for the half-year was not as bad as it could have been, but being lower than the casino’s pre-pandemic €408.6m H1 numbers for 2019/2020.
According to the most current data, operational profit has increased to €91.9m from €50.1m recorded for the first half of the previous year. Additionally, the revenue is higher than the business’s pre-pandemic H1 2019/2020 of €69.4m.
