Key points:
– Patrice Evra has signed a deal with Stake to become a global ambassador
– The former Manchester United and Juventus player joins Sergio Aguero as part of Stake’s ambassador lineup
Stake has confirmed that former professional footballer Patrice Evra has signed on as a global ambassador for the betting company.
Evra played for clubs including Manchester United, Juventus and Monaco and is known for his contributions during a career that included 17 titles.
Among his achievements are five Premier League titles and a Champions League win in 2008 during his time with Manchester United.
Since retiring in 2019, Evra has worked as a football pundit and regularly appears in media coverage of the sport.
He joins Sergio Aguero, another former Premier League player, who was previously announced as an ambassador for Stake.
Stake has developed multiple partnerships across sports including deals in football, Formula 1 and mixed martial arts. The company stated that more content involving Evra will be introduced across its channels in the coming months.
The terms and duration of the deal have not been disclosed.
Good to know: Patrice Evra has made 81 appearances for the French national team and captained the side during his career
Stake was previously removed from the UK market following controversy over the promotion of OnlyFans content on its social channels, making its partnership with a high-profile UK player particularly notable.
Patrice commented: “I am so excited to be working with Stake and joining the family. I am a massive MMA fan and Stake is a brand that everyone thinks of when it comes to the sport.”
Akhil Sarin, Stake CMO, added: “Patrice is a footballing icon and one of the best players to ever play in his position.
“As much as his incredible credentials, we love his eccentric, larger-than-life personality and his strong opinions on the beautiful game.”
The announcement follows Stake’s recent appointment of Fabio Angeli Bufalini as Country Manager for Italy, where he will lead efforts to build a local team and tailor offerings to suit the preferences of Italian players.
