Nolimit City licenses xMechanic to Sneaky Slots through new partnership
The studio will have access to around 20 different tools trademarked by Nolimit City for its portfolio.
Key points:
– Sneaky Slots will use the xMechanics in its upcoming slots
– However, not much is known about Sneaky Slots yet; it could potentially be a new Evolution brand
Nolimit City has partnered with new studio Sneaky Slots to license its xMechanic gameplay tools for future releases.
Although not much has been released on Sneaky Slots so far, the company did publish its inaugural LinkedIn post last week, which featured a “Coming soon” graphic.
The Sneaky Slots website is hosted by Playin, part of Evolution, and lists Sneaky Slots alongside other studios such as Red Tiger, NetEnt and Big Time Gaming; but the Evolution site currently has no information about Sneaky Slots.
As for Nolimit City, this studio has around 20 in-house xMechanics, such as xNudge, xWays and xBomb.
These will be featured in upcoming Sneaky Slots releases, although its roadmap is yet to be announced.
If Evolution is focusing on developments between Nolimit City and a new brand, it does beg the question of what this means for the company in the future.
Nolimit City does lean towards modern, edgier slots that are not afraid to push the limits; Seamen, Serial, Karen Maneater and Mental II are all great examples.
Good to know: Evolution acquired Nolimit City in 2022 in a €200m ($210.4m) upfront deal with an additional €140m to be paid in earn-outs
By contrast, Red Tiger, NetEnt and BTG are seen as classic, almost legacy brands that release titles, such as Golden Goose Megaways and Cash Volt.
If Sneaky Slots can combine the crazy xMechanics features alongside safer – and more marketable – themes, then it could be a positive direction for innovation within the company.
This could be similar to how Evolution used the Megaways mechanic across multiple brands after it acquired BTG in 2021 for $534.5m.
Sneaky Slots could also be focused on localised content, as NoLimit City has recently signed deals for the Brazilian market.
Until more information about Sneaky Slots is released, all we can do it wait.
