DraftKings has announced the launch of a mobile and online sportsbook in South Africa, in partnership with Peermont Hotels, Gaming and Resorts.

South African gaming and hospitality group Peermont, will utilise DraftKings’ B2B sportsbook and platform solution to power the PalaceBet sportsbook, the group's first online sports betting venture.

The venture will see South African sports fans have access to a range of sports betting features, such as Your Bet and Pulse Betting, while data integrations with Betgenius and IMG will allow customers to bet on local and international sports including cricket, football, tennis and rugby, as well as Lucky Numbers.

DraftKings chief international officer Shay Berka, said: “This collaboration brings together two organisations committed to providing South Africa’s sports fans with the most dynamic and innovative sports betting experience.”

Peermont CEO Nigel Atherton, added: “Peermont has always been at the forefront of the latest trends and technology, therefore it made sense to partner with DraftKings as a leader in sports betting software,”

In August, US-based fantasy and sports betting operator and supplier DraftKings, reported a revenue rise of 24% year-on-year for Q2 2020, up to $70.9m.
