DraftKings has signed an exclusive, multi-year partnership with Bryson DeChambeau, a professional golfer ranked No. 6 in the Official World Golf Ranking, who will become the face of DraftKings golf. According to the sports betting operator, DeChambeau will “represent the digital sports entertainment and gaming company via an integrated brand, content, marketing, and VIP centric collaboration.” Athlete sponsorship also aims to provide more unique engagement for fans, such as receiving golf lessons from DeChambeau.

Golf is the fourth-most-popular sport for daily fantasy at DraftKings, and the golf sportsbook handle has seen rapid growth. The 2019 Masters ranked as some of the highest-bet sporting events on DraftKings and some of the company’s most popular golf tournaments took place in 2020.

Jason Robins, CEO of DraftKings, said: “Professional golf has been a key growth sport in both daily fantasy and sports betting, and our collaboration with Bryson DeChambeau is a notable new layer of mainstream brand exposure and fan experience.” He added: “DraftKings is strategically aligning with winning athletes like Bryson who embody and embolden the competitive fire of our customers.”

In turn, DeChambeau noted the gaming industry helped to promote golf and allowed it to reach broader audiences. DeChambeau was proud to be working with DraftKings to increase the excitement for golf. He said: “DraftKings has been at the forefront of innovation for how people experience golf, and the company continues to modernize the game through technology built by and for sports fans.”
