It has been a long time in the making for the state of New York, with many commentators anticipating the day would eventually come, but mobile sports wagering could finally be on the cards for the Empire State.

Following Governor Andrew Cuomo's comments earlier this week, all eyes will now be on New York and whether it can compete with the already-successful legal sports betting market of neighbouring New Jersey.

A keen advocate of New York sports betting – and crucially mobile betting  – New York State Senator Joseph Addabbo Jr exclusively joins the GI Huddle to react to the Governor's comments and provide his take on where New York must go next.

While there is still much to be done, the Senator says, there's relief for him after years of opposition on the issue from the Governor.

Watch the video in full below to see what Senator Addabbo has to say as he joins us for a GI Huddle news interview.

Stay tuned, too, for more GI Huddle interviews coming your way next week.
