The Londoner Macao, previously known as Sands Cotai Central, will open in stages throughout 2021. The whole project reportedly cost close to $1.9bn, a slight reduction from the previously predicted $2.2bn.

The first phase will be launched next month, including the Londoner Hotel, Crystal Palace atrium and new dining options. The venue should also have several interactive London-themed attractions. The following phases will see the opening of Suites by David Beckham, an additional accommodation within the hotel, as well as Londoner Court, a luxury hotel addition. The venue will also have a shopping space known as the Shoppes at Londoner and an entertainment venue called Londoner Arena.

“The entire company is eagerly anticipating the launch of our newest themed destination – The Londoner Macao,” said Sands China president Dr Wilfred Wong. “The success of any of our integrated resorts is directly tied to the dedication of our hard-working team members, who bring our properties to life each day and provide unforgettable experiences and world-class service to our guests and visitors.”

The launch of the first phase coincides with the Chinese New Year, which will be on 12 February; the Chinese New Year holiday period will be from 11 to 17 February, but guests can already book rooms in the Londoner Hotel from 22 January.
