Boston Red Sox signs deal with DraftKings as exclusive DFS provider

The Red Sox and Boston-based DraftKings have announced a deal to make DraftKings the team's official daily fantasy sports (DFS) provider. The agreement reestablishes DraftKings’ relationship with one of the most popular teams in baseball.

DraftKings’ most recent local sponsorship in the Northeast will be represented by the Red Sox; this comes after previously finalising deals with the New England Patriots and Boston Celtics.

DraftKings will have field-level home plate signage and LED branding alongside the first and third baseline for one inning at each season home game. In addition to this, the DraftKings brand will be displayed throughout Fenway Park.

Ezra Kucharz, DraftKings Chief Business Officer, commented: “We are thrilled to team up with a historic franchise like the Red Sox and bring DraftKings closer to this passionate fanbase, which is even more special given our hometown Boston roots.

“As a Boston-born company, we are well-acquainted with the devotion of Boston sports fans, and we believe the engagement possibilities of this integration are only just beginning.”

Through the Red Sox Foundation website, DraftKings will be promoted as the official Daily Fantasy Partner, and this will be popularised via emails and social media posts.

Included in the deal, the operator will also gain title sponsorship of the 50-50 raffle for all home games.

This includes branding on paraphernalia such as: raffle sales team paddleboards, raffle tickets and email blasts. The Red Sox Foundation prides its success as one of the largest team charities in all professional sports; this will now be represented in the partnership with DraftKings.

“Since 2015, we have worked closely with DraftKings and are pleased to now have this Boston-based company on board as our official Daily Fantasy Sports partner,” said Red Sox EVP of Partnerships Troup Parkinson.

“With millions participating in the world of fantasy sports, this partnership positions us well to grow our game and engage with our fans on a trusted platform. We look forward to deepening our partnership in the years ahead.”
