Merkur Spielbanken casinos in Saxony-Anhalt pass G4 review with no faults

Merkur Spielbanken’s casinos in the German state of Saxony-Anhalt have successfully received recertification from the Global Gambling Guidance Group (G4).

The Gauselmann Group-owned casino company was the first to undergo G4’s certification process in 2015, a comprehensive review which, if passed, demonstrates an operator’s commitment to creating a responsible gaming environment.

Companies are expected to undergo a new review once every two years, with this marking Merkur Spielbanken’s latest assessment from the international gaming accreditation body.

G4 auditor Pieter Remmers thoroughly inspected the company’s casinos in Saxony-Anhalt, with Merkur’s three venues in Leuna, Magdeburg and Halle all completing the certification process with no major objections.

Jan Kowala, Head of the Central Prevention department at the Gauselmann Group, which supported the G4 Commission during the review, expressed his delight that all three casinos passed without any faults.

“We consider the successful recertification to be confirmation by independent, external experts that our extensive prevention measures are mature in terms of quality and are being diligently applied in practice,” remarked Kowala.

In addition to checking compliance with all of the legal requirements, the review by the independent G4 Commission also uses strict standards to examine internal company guidelines and measures such areas as employee training and access control.

In a statement, Knuth Achilles, Director of Merkur Spielbanken in Saxony-Anhalt, praised the outstanding performance of the casino company’s employees.

“Recertification by the G4 Commission has shown that our casino employees are extremely professional and competently implement all youth and player protection measures,” said Achilles.

“The recertification is therefore also testament to the excellent training management in the entire corporate group.”
