Sportradar’s Integrity Services division has signed deals with two big European basketball organisations for its Universal Fraud Detection System (UFDS).

EasyCredit Basketball Bundesliga (easyCredit BBL) and the Slovak Basketball Association (SBA) will benefit from the system free of charge as the company continues its commitment to safeguarding sport around the world.

A two-year agreement will see Integrity Services monitor the easyCredit BBL and Magenta Sport BBL-Pokal competitions, covering almost 350 games. BBL has also been guaranteed access to Integrity Services’ premium services on request, including its Intelligence & Investigation and Education & Prevention segments.

“Sports fans across the world all want to engage with sports that they know are played fairly — that’s the beauty of sport and why people love it so much,” said easyCredit BBL’s CEO Dr Stefan Holz.

“We know Sportradar believes in protecting the integrity of our sport as much as we do, and that’s why we want to work with them. We value the commitment the company makes to supporting sports federations and leagues globally.”

For the SBA meanwhile, Sportradar will monitor around 300 matches, bringing its betting fraud know-how to all games in the men’s and women’s Slovak Basketball Leagues, as well as the men’s Slovak Basketball Cup.

Secretary General of the SBA Andrej Kuffa said: “The SBA recognizes the depth of knowledge and experience that Sportradar’s Integrity Services brings, and our use of the UFDS will strengthen integrity measures in our premier competitions.”

The UFDS is a bet monitoring system that, according to Sportradar, has been independently assessed and verified by recognised experts in the field of sports betting and integrity. A global team of integrity experts will analyse irregular betting patterns and report any suspicious activity to crack-down on match-fixing.

Andreas Krannich, MD of Sportradar Integrity Services, added: “We’re very pleased to partner with these two forward-thinking organisations to assist their efforts in protecting basketball competitions against betting-related manipulation.”
